As one of my last ancillary tasks I need to create a double page spread that would be featured in a magazine. In order to start this process and gain an insight into what conventions are included in double page spreads. Before looking into my own genre of double page spreads I looked at a general range to determine what conventions are used throughout the pages and what features I need to include in my own in order for it to be successful.
From all of the film review pages above the main features include having main images that are action shots from the film. Meaning that the images have been taken part way through the film not from a separate photo shoot. This means that when creating my own review page the images that will be used will be screen shots from the actual film not pictures that I have made my actors pose for like the image on the film poster is. The images are also not very edited with things like filters on them meaning that when adding my own images I may brighten them up slightly however not do any other editing to them like was done on the image for the film poster. Due to my film only being a short film I will not have as much to say about it in comparison to major films without giving the storyline away before they have watched it, due to this and the pictures I have in mind that I will be able to use I feel like my short film poster will follow similar conventions as the first and last film review pages that I have added above. Although these are major film posters and I have created a short film when looking for short film review pages they are mainly students work, so these best work that I can use is the pictures that have been added above.
