Editing Process So Far

In order to edit my short film I used Final Cur Pro X. I have a mac book pro so in order to make editing easier I dowloaded  the 30 day free trial which meant that I was able to edit at home and not just at school on the school Mac Books. However due to only being a trial it meant that I had to ensure all of the editing was done and finished within the 30 days.

Final Cut Pro wasn't hard to use once I got the hang of what to do, if there was something that I didn't get or needed to I was able to ask a friend or google the problem which always lead to a solution.

One of the things that I edited into my short film the most was sound and text. With sound I took short sounds out of other clips I had filmed that I wasn't going to be using and added them into the scenes that I was using, an example of this is where 'black hoodie' hits his hand onto the lockers.
During this scene I muted the audio that went with the scene and added the girls talking from another scene, I then added a small clip of audio from the original scene which was 'Black Hoodie" banging the locker. By doing this it looked like the girls where having the conversation while Megan and 'black hoodie' were having there conversation. It also shows how quietly they were having there conversation as the only thing that two girls can hear is the banging of the lockers. This also showed that Megan and 'black hoodie' would not have heard what the girls were saying.

An example of where I have used typing is where Hannah is getting ready to go into the woods to meet the person that has been texting the girls. I added text onto the screen rather than having more speech as it created more of an atmosphere and shows what she is truly feeling without her having to have a conversation with someone about it. Once finding the typing style that I wanted it made it a lot easier to just keep adding the text as and when I wanted it to come up. You can easy change the amount of time that the text is shown by making the purple boxes longer and shorter.
